Mr John Mdluli

Mr John Mdluli has more than 10 years’ experience in Community Engagement work and clinical trials. He is the former Global Core chair for HVTN Community Educators and Recruiters and served in the UNITAID NGO delegation forum and is also a member of the Global GPP Leadership Forum. He was involved in the Thibela TB trial, a TB prevention trial that has won an international award for “Best Innovative Participant Recruitment Strategies and enrolled more than 23 000 participants”. As the Head of Community Engagement under The Aurum Institute Clinical Trials Division, he oversees the community engagements and developments in four of the Aurum clinical research sites in Klerksdorp, Rustenburg, Tembisa and Welkom. Mr Mdluli has experience in TB prevention trials (TB vaccines), TB treatment trials (Testing safe and effective novel drugs), HIV treatment (ARV treatment) and HIV prevention/Vaccines (HVTN 702; 107; 108; 111 and 703) including Microbicides trials (FACTS 001).
